Brian Cuddy and Bill Griffiths have been working together since 1977, when their paths first crossed as Audit Associates at Arthur Andersen & Co’s Boston office. Recognizing that auditing was not their career of choice they joined a national recruiting firm, Romac and Associates, where they developed their expertise in Accounting & Finance search. Brian and Bill enjoyed long tenures at Romac where they guided the Boston office through significant growth and expansion. In the mid 90’s, Romac executed a successful public offering followed by a major acquisition of Source Services, resulting in a $800M publicly traded staffing firm. Along the way, Brian and Bill each built an extremely broad and loyal network of senior finance professionals.

In early 2000, Brian decided to rejoin Andersen as Director of Business Development for the Boston office, helping their Partners identify and generate new client opportunities. In 2002 after the Enron scandal shuttered Andersen, Bill decided to join Brian in his new business development advisory venture, aptly named Cuddy & Griffiths, LLC. This business model was extremely well received and eventually C&G was representing ten non-competing professional service providers in their new business development efforts.

Despite their efforts to convey to the marketplace they were no longer in the “recruiting” business Brian and Bill found themselves constantly being contacted by their networks to help them find a new position or fill an opening. The dynamics of the business certainly warranted staying well connected, so it was logical to concurrently re-enter the search world. In 2003 Fenway Consulting Group, LLC was founded.

Primarily launched as a resource for companies needing to bring in interim or project consultants, Fenway also handled a small number of retained searches for CFO’s, VP Finance’s and Corporate Controllers. In 2009, we merged resources with those of Carl Baskind, a long-time friend and former co-worker who had founded his own recruitment firm after departing Romac. At that point a concerted effort was begun to expand Fenway into the contingency placement business capitalizing on Carl’s substantial background and expertise.

Now doing business as Fenway Search Group, we have expanded our team to fourteen and we are proud to be one of Boston’s premier resources for mid-senior level Accounting & Financial talent.
